Sheifa Talab Ismaael
Sheifa Talab Ismaael is a clothing designer who specializes in elegant women’s formal wear: multi-layered, multi-colored, adorned with embroidery; an aesthetically-appealing combination of designs, textures, materials, styles. Although Sheifa only completed the sixth grade of elementary school, she was blessed with training as a seamstress. Before Sheifa came to Tamweelcom, she was doing “piece work” for a non-profit organization named “Society for Women”. However, it wasn't enough income to help support her eight children. Sheifa heard about Tamweelcom and obtained her first loan which bought the materials for her "leap" into her own small business project - making women's clothing. The Souk Ayyadi Bazaars gave Sheifa a wonderful opportunity to increase her exposure and her sales; on average, she made JD100 per day. Additionally, the bazaars gave Sheifa an education in the consumer market; how to assess consumer trends and pricing. And having “face time” with the customer, helped Sheifa develop new products, including; shawls, modern clothing designs, cushion covers, scarves, embroidered décor and dolls for children. She also learned that by adding only a 10% profit margin to her products, they were affordable for her customers which created a harmonious exchange that promoted the reciprocity of return business and referrals. In the long run, the way in which Sheifa has comported herself in the business realm will manifest a loyal clientele and a consistent incline in her sales. Now, Sheifa intends to renew her loan; continue to participate in the bazaars; and start marketing her products through the showrooms; all, with the intention of increasing her sales, income and her clientele. Sheifa may not have a full education, but she is a very smart woman! She is grabbing hold of the “golden opportunity” called Tamweelcom and Souk Ayyadi and utilizing their services and support! Sheifa can see “the light at the end of the tunnel” of poverty; she has the tools to improve her life and the future for her children!
