13 June 2009, Amman - The Jordan Micro Credit Company (Tamweelcom) concluded on Saturday the last of the computer skills training courses that were provided to its clients free of charge in cooperation with FastRabbit Company that specializes in network protection and specialized programs in computer technologies.
The training, which was conducted once a week throughout the month of May, included sessions on the basics of using the computer, the internet, and computer applications (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Internet Browsing). The training, which was conducted at the Jabal Hussein branch, hosted more than 100 clients from the different branches throughout the Kingdom.
Tamweelcom’s Marketing Manager, Mr. Hassan Jamil, indicated that Tamweelcom, being a non-profit company, seeks to provide the best comprehensive financial and non-financial services under the name of Micro-value chain services that encompasses training, financing and marketing services, which are considered the main component for the success of micro and small enterprises. Through these services, Tamweelcom endeavors to strengthen its social mission and fulfill its social objectives as company in the microfinance sector, by providing the best services to micro-entrepreneurs and low income people. He added that providing such services is done in cooperation with some private sector companies, as well as government institutions, that believe in Tamweelcom’s mission and are keen to enhance their social responsibility in the local community.
FastRabbit General Manager, Engineer Iyad Khader, said that the Company, which is a specialized company in the computer and communications sector, is keen to strengthen its cooperation with non-profit companies working in the field of poverty alleviation and unemployment in the Kingdom as part of its social responsibility, and indicated that the Company will continue to implement its social programs that target the local community.
Tamweelcom is the leading and pioneering company in the microfinance sector in Jordan, that focuses on poverty alleviation and unemployment. It is a non-profit organization established in 1999 and is fully owned by Noor Al-Hussein foundation “King Hussein Foundation”. More than 113 thousand projects have been financed with more than JD 54 million, and 95% of the clients are women.
