The Jordan Micro Credit Company (Tamweelcom) has launched the “Your Summer as You Wish” Festival for 2009, as part of a promotional campaign aimed at the sector of licensed and home based businesses.
The Festival includes many awards for the Company’s clients: 100 Umra trips, 200 insurance policies, 200 electrical appliances, 500 trips to Aqaba, and 1000 school educational grants. Clients are selected on the basis of points on the Loyalty Card, which is given free of charge to clients. The points system is based on several social standards, as well as standards to encourage clients to pay their installments on time, participation in Souk Ayyadi, product developments, and renewal.
Marketing manager Hassan Jamil Hassan said: “Your Summer as You Wish” festival is one of the non-financial services that the Company provides free-of-charge to its clients. It is an annual Festival launched in 2009 and aims to encourage micro-entrepreneurs to borrow from Tamweelcom in order to develop their projects or to establish home-based projects, and to make use of Tamweelcom’s financial and non-financial services.”
Tamweelcom is a non-profit company and is the first and pioneering microfinance company in Jordan that endeavors to fight poverty and unemployment. It was founded in 1999 and is owned by the Noor Al-Hussein Foundation (King Hussein Foundation). More than 115 thousand projects have been financed using more than JD 56 million, 95% of the projects were for women.
