Reema Kawar
If you fail to notice Reema’s beautifully designed and colorful glass creations, then you will definitely be taken in by her friendly smile and warm welcome as she invites you to feast your eyes on the creativity of her handiwork. Reema Kawar, a young businesswoman, started glass painting in her own shop two years ago. Her husband had encouraged her to learn this grand profession, and she now works and manages their own shop, while he does glass painting works at architectural workshops.
You will be amazed when you see her three children helping her render this family project a success. One child helps out with drawing, another with decorating, and even her four-year-old Laila helps out by dusting the gentle glass pieces.
Reema told us about sales in her small shop. She said: “We are governed by seasons and tourist groups, which is a sad thing. I would like to see the glass items I make with my family decorate Jordanian homes as they do for tourists’ homes abroad.” Reema was nevertheless at a loss regarding the method of marketing and promoting her glass handiwork, until she found the solution with one of Tamweelcom’s representatives, who encouraged her to cooperate with Tamweelcom to support her young talent and open larger marketing horizons for her. Indeed, Reema used Tamweelcom’s financial support, borrowing JD600 which she used to redecorate and redesign her shop. The larger support, however, came when she was provided with the opportunity to participate in a number of exhibitions and bazaars organized by Tamweelcom in an initiative to promote its clients’ work. In addition to displaying her charming glass creations in Souk Ayadi, Reema’s unique glass products are made available through Tamweelcom’s official website.
While her wonderful glass creations adorn Jordanian bazaars and markets, Reema dreams of reaching this unique Jordanian imprint to Europe and world markets, and she is sure to achieve her dream through Tamweelcom.
